Faubel brings home medalist honors at CSM Spring Invite

OMAHA, Neb. – Emily Faubel was the individual champion and led the College of Saint Mary golf team to a third-place finish at the CSM Spring Invite.

Faubel shot an 84 Thursday for a two-day total of 88-84—172. She tied Emily Hulshof from Northwestern College for medalist honors.

Northwestern won the team competition with 719.

Concordia University took second with 724, CSM was third with 742, Nebraska Wesleyan University finished fourth with 768, Hastings College placed fifth with 793, Doane University took sixth with 814 and Peru State College rounded out the pack with 850.

"We had a different vision for how this tournament would go and for how the team would finish," CSM Coach Keri Rodriguez said. "We need to reset and work on the mental game and good course management."

CSM's Gabby Sinnett also medaled with an 87-95—182 which tied her for seventh place.

"I'm very proud of Emily for being the tournament champion," Rodriguez said. "And for Gabby also medaling in the Top 10."

Anna Moore placed 15th with 100-93—193, Alexa Piecko tied for 17th with 96-100—196 and Torrance Loudner tied for 20th with 99-100—199. Playing as individuals were Avery Campbell with 101-99—200, Samantha Doughly 103-104—207 and Erynn Milan 102-109—211.

The Flames are off until Monday and Tuesday when they play in the IWCC Bent Tree Intercollegiate Showcase.

"We know what we need to work on at practice and what our goals are for the rest of the season," Rodriguez said.
