Sports Information

Covering the Flames

College of Saint Mary Sports Information is always interested in helping members of the media in their coverage of the Flames' athletic programs. Photographs, feature ideas, statistics, media guides and travel plans are available through the Sports Information Department. Third party video taping of games or practices is prohibited unless prior approval from the CSM Athletic Department is received.

Interviews

All interviews should be setup through the sports information office. College of Saint Mary head coaches are available throughout the week, mainly in the morning. Student-athletes are also available for interviews, typically right before or after practice. Most CSM teams practice between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. during the week.

Radio

A phone line will be made available at CSM athletic events for visiting radio stations to broadcast CSM home games. Press box credentials for radio should be requested at least one week prior to each game. Anyone interested in covering a game and/or practice should contact the Sports Information office at least 24 hours in advance.

Credentials

Request for credentials to athletic events should be made at least 48 hours in advance of the event and directed to the sports information office. Spouses, dates, children and non-working media will not be given a pass or assigned a seat on press row. College of Saint Mary does not provide parking passes to the media.

Gameday Services

College of Saint Mary's sports information office produces gameday programs, which include rosters, schedules and statistical leaders. Games notes, when available, will be published on the athletics website.

Opponents are asked to supply College of Saint Mary -- either via fax, email or with a link to availability on the web -- with detailed rosters, up-to-date statistics and season scores, for use in our gameday program no later than a day before the event. Following a home event, College of Saint Mary will supply all results to both home and visiting media. College of Saint Mary always contacts the Lincoln Journal Star and Omaha World Herald with scores and statistics (where applicable). Scores are also called into local TV and sports/news radio stations.

Local Media List

College of Saint Mary will also phone scores or email results and statistics to opponent media. Please contact the sports information office at least a day in advance of a game with media email addresses. Opposing teams are also free to use phone and fax machines in the athletic office.

Please ask the sports information director or an athletic staff member for assistance.

Statistical Services

College of Saint Mary uses the DakStats statistics programs for volleyball, women's soccer, women's basketball, and softball. For swimming, CSM uses the Meet Manager scoring system. Visiting teams that use Stat Crew are asked to supply College of Saint Mary's sports information office with roster files at least a day in advance of a game. College of Saint Mary will supply visiting teams and media with complete statistics, including a press/news release immediately following the game. Postgame, College of Saint Mary will e-mail game files to opposing SIDs.
