College of Saint Mary Director of Athletics Robbie Shay is excited to announce the hiring of Katie Frohmader to the Flames Athletics Department.

Frohmader will fulfill the new role of Associate Athletic Director. She started her duties July 15.

"Katie's excitement and enthusiasm are exactly what we need in this position," Shay said. "She is going to do a great job. The energy and passion she brings will help move our department and college to a new level. We are excited to have her."

Frohmader is no stranger to NAIA athletics after having a very successful playing career with the Viterbo University volleyball team. She was a team captain for the V-Hawks three years, was named NSAA All-Conference all four years, was a three-time AVCA All-Region selection, was a two-time AVCA All-American, was the 2019 NSAA Offensive Player of the Year and was the Viterbo Female Athlete of the Year in 2019. She also served on the Viterbo Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was the NSAA Social Justice Committee Representative.

After graduating from Viterbo with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in December of 2021, she went on to serve as an interim coordinator of athletics communications and events at Viterbo until June of 2022. She then went to the University of Minnesota and completed her Master of Education in Sport Management degree in December of 2023. During that time, she was also a student-athlete development intern for the Gophers and then served as a communications assistant there until taking the position at CSM.

"I am excited to return to the NAIA and join the College of Saint Mary staff," Frohmader said. "I look forward to doing whatever I can to help create a winning culture and a complete collegiate experience for our student-athletes. Go Flames!"
