OMAHA, Neb. – Delainey Benedict has signed her letter of intent to continue her education and dance career at College of Saint Mary.

The daughter of James and Nikole Benedict will join the Flames in the fall. Benedict is currently a senior at Platteview High School.

"I am thrilled to welcome Delainey to the Flames dance team," CSM Coach April Allen said. "I saw Delainey dance over the summer at her studio showcase and knew from the first routine that she would be a great fit for our squad. Delainey is a strong performer on stage with clean technique – both will help lead CSM to high competition scores."

Benedict plans to study Early Childhood Education at CSM. She says her greatest sports moment to date was "going to Joffrey in New York for four weeks for a summer intensive" and that her hobbies outside of dance include hanging out with friends and shopping.

"I chose CSM because I loved the small, inclusive community," Benedict said. "It felt very welcoming."
