
Season comes to an end for CSM Dance Team
CRETE, Neb. – College of Saint Mary Dance Coach April Allen said the Flames had their best performance of the year Friday.
The Flames took 8th place at the Great Plains Athletic Conference Championships and 9th place in the NAIA Northwest Qualifier. The event was hosted by Doane University.
College of Saint Mary scored 61.90 in the afternoon prelims and then posted a 62.90 in the finals for a total score of 62.65.
Midland University won the championships with a total score of 91.50, while Doane was second with 86.66. In other team scores: Viterbo University 85.42; Morningside University 83.53; Dordt University 81.97; Concordia University 81.89; Hastings College 76.57; Northwestern College 67.80.
"We had an amazing last performance," CSM freshman Elizabeth Kenny said. "We left it all on the floor and our hard work from this season really paid off. I'm so proud of everyone."
It was the last time in a Flames competition for seniors Elisabeth Weatherly and Karly Nothhorn.
"I am honored to have coaches these two women and am so sad that today is their final day dancing at CSM," Allen said. "Both athletes have been strong leaders on the team for 4+ years. I know they will go on to do amazing things in their post-college careers."
