Schade named GPAC Soccer Defender of the Week

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference has announced its first weekly awards for the 2024 season and a College of Saint Mary student-athlete has already been recognized.

CSM goalkeeper Alivia Schade was named the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 19-25.

Women's Defense – Alivia Schade, College of Saint Mary (Goalkeeper)
Schade of the College of Saint Mary is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. Schade, a senior from Kearney, Neb., piled up the saves during the week for the Flames. She had eight saves and a clean sheet in a 0-0 tie with Park University. She also had three saves in a 1-1 tie earlier in the week against Tabor College.

Women's Offense – Karinna Tel, Dordt University (Forward)
Karinna Tel of Dordt University is this week's GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Tel, a junior from Puyallup, Wash., tallied two goals as the Defenders opened its season with a win over William Penn. 

Hauff Mid-America Sports is the presenting sponsor of the 2024-2025 GPAC Players of the Week and Players and Coaches of the Year awards program.
