
Abbie Anderson, Ring make second-team All-GPAC in soccer
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Senior midfielder Abbie Anderson and junior forward Marissa Ring have been honored by the Great Plains Athletic Conference as second-team All-GPAC soccer selections.
Anderson, an Omaha native who played at Fort Calhoun High School, led the Flames with seven assists and also scored three goals.
Ring, a Neola, Iowa, native and a Tri-Center High School graduate, shared the team lead with seven goals and tied for second on the Flames with five assists.
Aubrey Vancura, a senior defender from Kearney, Neb., who played at Kearney High School, earned honorable mention honors.
The All-GPAC teams are selected by a vote of the coaches in the conference.
Karinna Tel from Dordt University has been tabbed as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Offensive Player-of-the-Year, while Megan Lampe from Hastings College was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Defensive Player-of-the-Year. Jade Ovendale of Hastings College has been selected as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Coach-of-the-Year.
