Flames add Mrsny to soccer program

OMAHA, Neb. – College of Saint Mary is thrilled to announce the addition of Leah Mrsny, who will join the school's soccer program in the 2025-26 academic year.

The daughter of Mike and Kim Mrsny (pronounced MERZ-nee) is a senior at Millard North High School, where she has played soccer for four years. She was named the 2023 player of the year for her club team, which was a two-time President's Cup state champion.

"Leah is going to be a fantastic player for us,'' CSM Coach Jamison Parkhill said. "She can play center back and center defensive mid. She is a great person off the field as well, and we are super excited she chose to play at CSM for her four years.''

Mrsny, whose sports hero is former World Cup soccer champion Carli Lloyd, enjoys cooking, weightlifting and painting. She is pleased with her college decision.

"The team was super welcoming, and there was a strong sense of community, which is something I think makes a team much more enjoyable,'' she said. "I also plan on becoming a physical therapist, and the facilities for the program were very promising.''
