No rhythm for Flames in loss

MITCHELL, S.D. – The College of Saint Mary never found a rhythm and was swept by Dakota Wesleyan Saturday in Great Plains Athletic Conference volleyball play by scores of 25-20, 25-10, 25-21.

"A very lackluster performance by us,'' CSM Coach Rick Pruett said. "With our fate in our own hands we didn't show up to play and got swept.''

The Flames' (13-12 overall, 4-8 GPAC) best chance to get back into the match came in set three. Leading 15-14, CSM scored five of the next six points – two on kills from Kayla Peterson and Malory Dickson – to lead 20-15. However, the Tigers (10-13, 4-7) scored 10 of the next 11 points to close out the match.

College of Saint Mary's offensive sputtered, as it hit just .063 for the match. Liz Henrichson provided nine kills and a .154 hitting efficiency to lead the way, while Grace Werner added eight kills and Madisyn Havermann had six. Miranda Ring handed out 16 assists while Elen Pruett paced the back row with 18 digs.

The Flames return to the court Wednesday at Midland in a GPAC match.
