
Green, Henrichson lead Flames’ All-GPAC honorees
SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Four College of Saint Mary volleyball players have earned recognition by the Great Plains Athletic Conference for their play in the 2024 season.
Sophomore middle blocker Azaria Green has earned first-team All-GPAC honors. The Council Bluffs Abraham Lincoln graduate led the Flames in hitting efficiency at .276, which was ninth in the conference among players with at least 100 kills. She also led the team in blocks per set with 0.92, which was 10th in the GPAC, while ranking second on the team in kills per set (2.63).
Graduate student Liz Henrichson, a right-side hitter, picked up second-team All-GPAC recognition. The Tekamah-Herman product ranked second on the team in hitting efficiency (.235) and third in kills per set (2.39) and blocks per set (0.56).
Two others made the honorable mention list, senior outside hitter Grace Werner and sophomore libero Elen Pruett. Werner, an Omaha Skutt graduate, led the Flames in kills per set (3.00), ranking 10th in the conference. Pruett, a Sergeant Bluff-Luton graduate, led CSM with 4.55 digs per set, which was seventh in the conference.
Jazlin Douma from Northwestern was selected as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Player-of-the-Year. Kyle Van Den Bosch from Northwestern was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Coach-of-the-Year. Northwestern won the regular season championship for 2024 with a 16-0 conference record. Northwestern won the GPAC Tournament championship on Saturday night in five over Concordia.
The NAIA Opening Round is scheduled for Nov. 23, with the NAIA National Volleyball Tournament scheduled in Sioux City, Dec. 4-10 at the Tyson Events Center. The All-GPAC teams were selected by the league coaches.
